Giorgio Garippa and Oliver Palmer are a collaborative duo based across Oxford and London, UK. They both graduated from Masters in Fine Art in 2012; Giorgio from Wimbledon and Oliver from Goldsmith. Their creative partnership began whilst studying as undergraduates at Oxford Brookes University.

Their combined practice has resulted in projects and research which have interrogated themes around memories of traumatic events and their transmission to subsequent generations and the potential of fiction as an addition to and correlative of historical narrative.

They have given presentations at The National Maritime Museum (which ranged topics as diverse as museum curation, art theory, the Pacific and Arctic collections of the Pitt Rivers Museum, and Victorian maritime history) and in association with The Imperial War Museum (which focussed on the topic of the bodily experience of war). They also participated in a residency at The Merz Barn Project in Cumbria, UK and recently completed ‘Extreme Land’ - a residency in Apulia, Italy. More recently, they began another new project as a part of ‘Breaking Ground’ - a residency in Bradford in association with the National Football Museum, Manchester (exhibition dates coming soon). During the residency they explored an abandoned football stadium alongside archaeologists and historians. They have collections at the Bradford University, UK, and the National Media Museum in Bradford, UK.
